The Supportive Apartments-Independent Living complex consists of nine (9) units  for Adults with a Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) through a collaboration with Legacy Human Services, Inc. as the Local Operating Unit (LOU), and The Arc of North Carolina (HUD).   Its purpose is to allow persons with severe mental illness to live with dignity and as independently as possible in the community.
